DVD (or Video) to Digital Camera

The people at Makayama, a well established software company in Amsterdam, are currently in the final stages of developing a software package that will allow you to transfer a DVD or other video media to the memory card of your digital photo camera so that you can then play it on your camera. They expect to have the package on the market within two or three weeks.

We copied the following directly from their site. Here's what they say about their package:

"A world's first: watch DVDs on your Digital Photo Camera ! Use your camera as media and entertainment centre. But not only DVDs, also recorded TV and downloaded films can be watched on your Sony Cybershot or Casio Digital Camera, in great quality, in full screen. The software installs on your PC, you insert a DVD and 45 minutes later, you have it on your camera, ready to watch on the go. A memorycard of 512 Mb is enough to store a couple episodes of a tv-series, a full length feature film, or a hundred minutes of video presentations. Let your children watch their favourite TV-cartoons in the car or watch a blockbuster movie while travelling for business. With only two clicks, this PC software converts your media to a small movie file, which will play on any compatible camera, from a postage stamp size memory card. Subtitled and foreign language DVDs are also supported.

Software runs on: Windows XP/2000/NT/Vista and all Sony Cybershot and Casio digital still camera's. A minimum of 512 Mb memorycard is needed for a full DVD.

The retail price is $32.95 for the unlimited version (excl. local taxes).

Available in May 2006."

If you think you may be interested, we can drop you a line when the package becomes available. Just leave us your e-mail address (which we will use absolutely for this purpose only and no other, and which we will not make available to anyone else, trust me).
