Error Doctor

This very popular program is as good a stand-alone registry cleaner as any, and we would be amiss not to include it in our line-up of the five best performance boosters on the market.  We can confidently recommend this package to you.

The Features section below and the testimonials in the far left column were copied directly from the Error Doctor site. The remaining observations about ease of use, support, etc. are our own and they are based on our own in-house tests and trials.

Features

 

Auto Scan By default, ERROR DOCTORT scans the registry for all types of errors. This is the simplest way to clean up the registry. Automatic Scan is recommended for 'non-technical' users.

Manual Cleanup After the scan is complete, ERROR DOCTORT will show you a full list of errors with details, and let you fix individual invalid entries or all invalid entries of a certain type.

Backup and Undo Before scanning your registry for errors, ERROR DOCTORT gives you the option to create a backup file(s) that can be used to undo the changes.

Scheduler You can schedule ERROR DOCTORT to scan the registry for errors every 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes or whenever you prefer. You even have the option to have your PC automatically scan for errors when your computer starts.

Ease of Use

We found this package exceptionally easy to use. Have a look at the Scan Screen (Figure 1, below) and notice that it shows what it's scanning for and what else you can do (change settings, for example). You can't miss the big red 'Scan' button on the left which when you press it, starts the scanning process. How much easier can it get? (To enlarge the image, click on it. Support

With this type of program, you don't really require support very often, but if you do, the supplier offers good email support. They generally answer within 24 hours.

Effectiveness

We tried the program on our test computer and it produced very good results on a par with the other registry cleaner systems featured on this site.

Conclusion

This is a very popular and well tried system that works well, is easy to operate, and provides good support. We have no hesitation in recommending it to you.
