NoAdware

NoAdware is the oldest anti-spyware package on the market. NoAdware has sold over 41.9 million copies of this software attesting to its stability, effectiveness and popularity. This is clearly an excellent buy in anti-spy software. We have no hesitation to list NoAdware as our Number 2 recommendation. We use it ourselves on our computers and are quite satisfied with it.

NoAdware detects and lists spyware, adware, key loggers, tracking cookies, browser hijackers, malware, and other malicious infections. It removes them only with your permission, creating a backup just in case you deleted a file that you later decide you wanted to keep. It scans  surprisingly quickly and efficiently. The program remains effective because you can update (for free) whenever you want to. We ourselves run the program once a week, and update it just before we run it each time, the same as we do with our XoftSpy program.

NoAdware is easy to install. At the end of the initial download, the Setup screen shown in Figure 1 below appears, and you just click on the 'Next' button. In no time you're on your way.

NoAdware is also very simple to operate. To demonstrate this, we've shown how easy it is to operate it under 'Procedures' at the end of this section. Anytime you want to run a scan, click on the desktop icon that was installed automatically at download, and NoAdware's relatively unobtrusive interface screen appears. You click on 'Scan my PC' and it scans until it is finished. You look at the list of infected items, and if you're OK with it, click 'Create Back up" on the popped up menu, then click "Remove Items,' and the program backs up and deletes the items. Nothing could  be simpler than this.

Here are the major NoAdware features:

• It has a very comprehensive data base
• It lists the spyware it detects and shows severity of danger
• You can schedule the program to scan automatically at given times, such as every Monday, every startup, etc. (see Figure 3 below)
• You can schedule to update automatically (see Fig 3)
• Database updates are free
• You can back up infected files before it deletes them
• You can select to scan files and folders only, if you wish
• Very few false positives (good files being identified as bad files)
• You can configure Browser and PC shields (see Fig 4 and 5)
• You can, in real time, block spyware from ever running on your PC in in the first place (see Fig 4 and 5)
• You can ensure that no website can add their URL to your browser's 'Favorites' list (see Fig 6).     

NoAdware is simple to operate, so you'll very seldom need any help. However, there is a good Help function, there's excellent e-mail support, and there's even a NoAdware chat line. You can expect an answer to your e-mail quite quickly, usually in less than 24 hours.

NoAdware is reasonably priced. It is a simple, yet very powerful and effective package, and offers excellent value for your money.

Conclusion

NoAdware is an excellent, safe and stable package. It is fully effective, but has not as many options/features as as our No 1recommendation, XoftSpy. . Nevertheless it is an excellent package. We use it ourselves, and we whole-heartedly recommend it to you. You really can't go wrong with this package.

PROCEDURES

To install Noadware after download, click on the 'Next' button shown in Figure 1 below, and NoAdware will install.

At installation, the program places an icon on your desktop. To run your program, click on that icon and the NoAdware interface screen appears, as shown in Figure 2 below.

Now you click on 'Scan my PC' and it scans until it is finished. (If you want to stop scanning earlier, click 'Stop Scan'). You look at the list of infected items, and if you're OK with it, click 'Create Back up" on the popped up menu, then click "Remove Items,' and the program backs up and deletes the items. Nothing could  be simpler than this.

Of course, you can schedule scans to take place automatically. To do this, you click on the Options tag on the interface screen, and up pops the scheduling screen shown below in Figure 3.
